S.M.A.R.T.® (Subperiosteal Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Ridge Augmentation Technique) is a novel bone grafting method that uses a small incision and laparoscopic principles to deliver biomaterials and growth factors to the treatment site. Flaps, tenting screws, or membranes are not required; resulting in less pain, less swelling and fewer complications. It was developed by Dr. Ernesto Lee to avoid frequent GBR complications such as dehiscences, membrane exposure, infections, loss of papillae, recession and esthetic failures.

S.M.A.R.T. was introduced in 2017, and has been successfully utilized for vertical and horizontal ridge augmentation, bone regeneration around natural teeth and implants, implant bone dehiscences, and peri-implantitis. In a recent publication, Dr. Lee demonstrated for the first time in the scientific literature, the chronology of bone regeneration in humans through the use of sequential human histology; providing irrefutable evidence of the validity of the S.M.A.R.T.® method.

S.M.A.R.T.® represents a disruptive innovation in regenerative dentistry. It is particularly well-suited for managing complex cases in the esthetic zone, often requiring fewer procedures while preserving and enhancing the soft tissues.

S.M.A.R.T.® is the only minimally invasive tunneling method supported by:
